A Glimpse

What am I reading now?  Sixteen Brides (Stephanie Grade Whitson)

Annnd . . . what do I think so far?  There are a lot of characters in this book! I worried that I wouldn't be able to keep them all straight, but they have unique situation in life that makes it much easier to follow each of their stories. It also helped that author whittled that 16 down by quite a few--but I won't tell you how. Clean read. Quick paced. Days of enjoyment.

Book Blurb:
Sixteen Civil War widows living in St. Louis respond to a series of meetings conducted by a land speculator who lures them west by promising "prime homesteads" in a "booming community." Unbeknownst to them, the speculator's true motive is to find an excuse to bring women to the fledging community of Plum Grove, Nebraska, in hopes they will accept marriage proposals shortly after their arrival!

Sparks fly when these unsuspecting widows meet the men who are waiting for them. These women are going to need all the courage and faith they can muster to survive these unwanted circumstances--especially when they begin to discover that none of them is exactly who she appears to be.

A Glimpse

The next Sweet &Sassy Anthology will be released in May 2016 with a beach theme.
Here's the beach we chose for our story:

It's the area surrounding Hood Canal in Washington where a rocky beach widens with low tide and shrinks to a tree lined edge at high tide.
