Powerful and Beautiful

What am I reading now? The Suspect's Daughter (Donna Hatch)

Annnd . . . what do I think so far? I love this so much. I've waited for Grant's story after having read the stories of the other three Amesbury brothers. I posted a blurb for this during the cover reveal--but it's out now!

Blurb:
Determined to help her father with his political career, Jocelyn sets aside dreams of love. When she meets the handsome and mysterious Grant Amesbury, her dreams of true love reawaken. But his secrets put her family in peril.

Grant goes undercover to capture conspirators avowed to murder the prime minister, but his only suspect is the father of a courageous lady who is growing increasingly hard to ignore. He can’t allow Jocelyn to distract him from the case, nor will he taint her with his war-darkened soul. She seems to see past the barriers surrounding his heart, which makes her all the more dangerous to his vow of remaining forever alone.

Jocelyn will do anything to clear her father’s name, even if that means working with Grant. Time is running out. The future of England hangs in the balance...and so does their love.

A New Beginning

What am I reading now?  A New Beginning (Amelia C. Adams)
Annnd . . . what do I think so far?  This is the first book in a fun series of historical romance novellas set in the early days of Topeka, Kansas. There are seven books out now in the Kansas Crossroads set.

Teaser:
Handsome young heir Adam Brody sees nothing but possibilities in the sprawling old building he's just purchased. With a little hard work, he will transform it into a hotel to meet the needs of those traveling by railroad. Aunt Caroline believes he's lost his mind, but she agrees to help him give it a try.

A widow with a small daughter, Elizabeth Caldwell must find work. When she sees an advertisement in the newspaper inquiring about cheerful young women to work in a hotel, she decides to apply. However, the hotel owner specifically requested single ladies, so she must hide her former marital status, and her child, if she wishes to get the job.

With cloudy pasts to overcome, both Adam and Elizabeth want to believe in a bright future. Will they find the strength they need in each other, or will their differences keep them apart?

The Suspect's Daughter Cover Reveal

What am I reading now?
Married to the Marquess (Rebecca Connolly)

Annnd . . . what do I think so far? This one has only been out two weeks. It starts out with the couple already married, so it isn't a question of it they will marry as most Regency romances are. Instead, the story reveals what went wrong (SO MUCH!) and what they are going to do about it (BAGGAGE = BAD CHOICE!).

Here's the gist:
To hate and to scold...

Derek Chambers, Marquess of Whitlock, has a problem: his wife. She is the single most horrifying aspect of his life, and the only thing he has ever enjoyed about her are their truly spectacular fights. As such, he prefers having as little to do with her as possible. So when she unexpectedly summons him to London, he surprises himself by going, and finds his life turned upside down in ways he never thought possible.

To loathe and to perish...

Katherine despises her worthless and irritating husband, and nothing bothers her more than the fact that he actually came to London when she sent for him. Worst of all, now that he has come, she needs him to stay. With her. And with his every smile making her heart race, she begins to wonder if there could be more to him than meets the eye.
